Semester Reflection
Looking back on your experiences in humanities throughout the first semester of humanities, what are your best memories and why?
Looking back on my experiences in humanities throughout the first semester of humanities, my favorite memory was receiving the white bandanas from Randy on the first day of our writing tips. This was one of my best memories because this made the students excited for new content and I personally love the writing tips. I am now able to identify patterns in my writing and professional examples which will be very helpful for me in the future.
Considering your work, habits and the products that you produced in humanities this semester, how can we see the greatest aspects of your character, and how do we see this in your work?
Considering my work, habits and the final products that I produced in humanities this semester, others can see the greatest aspects of my character and work in the ways that I interact and communicate with my peers and teachers. I was never goofing off and always was productive. When I was not doing my work, I was helping my peers and being involved with the visitors. I think my writing and comprehension has also improved by taking really good notes when Randy teaches us writing tips and reading professional examples. I am proud of my growth this semester and I think I have established a good balance of putting in effort to produce great work and showing good aspects of a leader in the classroom.
Considering your work, habits and the products that you produced in humanities this semester, how would you like to improve as a student, and how might we see this in your work?
Considering my work, habits and the products that I have produced in humanities this semester, I think there is room for improvement as a student. I would like to see myself have better study habits for the writing tip quizzes and I would like to try to boost my SAT scores by reading more. Other could see this in my work by reading my writing and understanding the concept and engaging in the story. I also would like to see myself challenge myself, staying on task and not procrastinating. I will continue to encourage my peers and show dedication on my work and for that to be reflected in my grade. I think that when I return from break and internship I will have had a break and will be ready to work and push my growth as a student.
What are the most important things that you learned during this semester of humanities, and why are these things important to you?
I have learned so many skills and so much knowledge my first semester of eleventh grade humanities. One of the most important things that I have learned and grasped that I will take to London is the importance of pride in my work. There was times during this semester when I rushed to make sure that I finished all of my assignments on time and lacked quality work. I learned that it is beneficial for me to go back to my work and improve it so that I can be proud of the final work I produce. I have also learned tips on how to be a better writer. I am inspired by what I have learned, read and seen in great work and when I return from break I hope to see improvement overall from these important skills. I would like to see dedication as a student by constantly updating my blog, digital portfolio and making cheat sheets for myself that will make it easier for me to study.
Take a moment and express gratitude to someone who helped you in humanities this year.
I do not say thank you enough to people who have encouraged, inspired and supported my in my first semester of my junior year. I would like to take a moment and express gratitude to a few people who helped me in humanities so far this year. First, obviously I would like to thank Randy for his knowledge, guidance, patience and encouragement. Whenever I needed help on anything Randy was useful but also did not give me everything I wanted and needed. He would give me a push and expected me to figure some things out on my own. I would also like to thank my other teachers, staff and academic coach for motivating me. My peers are very helpful and know the struggle of the work load every night but still take the time to help me when I am stuck. I am very thankful for a great first semester and look forward to next semester’s successes and challenges.
